SHIPPING NOTICE: Due to the holidays, we will have some temporary changes to our shipping schedule. For the week of December 20-26, we will only be shipping on Monday, December 21. For the week of December 27 - January 2, we will on be shipping Monday, December 28. Any order received after 9 am eastern time that Monday will be shipped the following week. Thank you and Happy Holidays! This listing is for live crickets (acheta domesticus or house crickets), which have been the industry standard for years. These crickets have a soft exoskeleton, which makes it easy for your pet to digest. They are not as aggressive towards humans or animals as some other breeds of crickets. They also move at a steady pace, which means they give your pet a little chase, but can easily be caught.
We ship them using potatoes or water crystals and feed so that they have a food and water source.
Caring for the Crickets
Crickets like to be kept between 80 and 85 degrees. If you are only going to have them for a few days, you can use potatoes to provide them water and nutrition. If you are going to keep them more than a few days, you should give them some type of cricket food and a wet sponge.
Live Delivery Guarantee
We do guarantee live delivery of our crickets. If more than 10% die in transit or within 72 hours of arrival, please let us know within 72 hours of delivery. We always put extra crickets into the box to account for up to a 10% loss. If more than 10% die and you meet the conditions of our live delivery guarantee, we will work with you to make things right. We will either issue you a refund for the portion that died or ship you a fresh box equal to the amount that died. If we do have to make a replacement, we will ship it using USPS Mail. If the crickets are not accepted during the first delivery attempt, the live delivery guarantee is voided. If the crickets are delivered to a PO box and are not picked up the day they are available for pick-up, the live delivery guarantee is voided. We DO NOT guarantee live delivery if your overnight low is below 25 degrees Fahrenheit.
Shipping
Crickets are usually delivered in two to three business days. Please note that occasionally the shipping service takes longer; unfortunately, this is out of our control. Our packaging is designed so that the crickets can travel up to 7 days with minimal DOAs.
WE ONLY SHIP MONDAY - WEDNESDAY. Generally, we ship all orders placed by 9:00 a.m EST Monday - Wednesday on the same business days. All order placed after 9:00 a.m. EST will generally be shipped the next business day.
All orders placed after 9:00 a.m. EST on Wednesday are generally shipped the following Monday.
We may, at our discretion, deviate from this shipping policy in cases of extreme weather. This generally happens in cases of extremely cold temperatures, winter weather, or hurricanes.
We ship to all states except Alaska and Hawaii. We also ship to Puerto Rico.
It is highly recommended that someone be there when your crickets arrive. They will not last very long if left in the cold.
Problems
Occasionally, there are problems when shipping live animals. If you experience any problems, please contact us directly to work out the problem. If you open a case with eBay before contacting us, we will work out the issue, but we will also block you from doing business with us again.
Please note that occasionally we may not have the exact size available. We try to get as close as possible to the correct size, but sometimes they may be slightly bigger or smaller. Also, keep in mind that the crickets are continuously growing. They can jump sizes pretty significantly during transport, depending on temperature. The hotter it is, the faster they will grow.
Please note that we do not mix sizes. If you want multiple sizes, you will have to order multiple boxes.
We will not put your order in multiple boxes unless you order multiple boxes.
There may
occasionally
be other bugs mixed in with your shipment. We do our best to remove any additional bugs, but some do still get through. Usually they are the dermistid beetles and their larvae, which can be helpful in keeping the box clean by feeding on dead crickets and their waste.
