THESE VINTAGE DOLLS ARE ABSOLUTELY NOT IN MINT LIKE NEW CONDITION AND ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN. FOR THE ADULT COLLECTOR. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A MINT ITEM OR A PLAYTHING FOR A CHILD THIS IS NOT THE LISTING FOR YOU. THANKS!Here we have a lot of fifteen Polly and friends (Barbie type clone) dolls by Valentine, Jilmar and Midwood. Ten (10) of the dolls are vintage 1960s to perhaps very early 1970s, and two of those ten are Polly's little sister Candy and her RARE best friend Mindy. There is an extra early 70s Grow Hair Polly head by Jilmar that just needs a body. Five (5) of the dolls are much newer Polly dolls made by Midwood Brands and sold within the last few years at Family Dollar stores in the USA. I am of the understanding that the new Polly dolls are still the same line as the Valentine/Jilmar Polly dolls sold in the 1960s-1970s...it's just that the copyrights have changed hands so many times over the decades and she was made by so many different companies during that time. She is supposed to be the world's second longest continuously sold fashion doll, right behind Barbie. These older vintage 60s-70s dolls are very hard to find, some of them extremely rare.
The five newer Midwood/Family Dollar Polly dolls are in mint/excellent condition. All of the vintage dolls here have problems of some sort...earring holes done by a child, walk mechanisms no longer work, grow hair mechanisms no longer work, loose joints and swingy legs, frizzy hair, cracks and splits in the plastic...face paint rubs or fading...etc. I have repaired a few of the dolls to the best of my ability and a few have been given paint enhancement, new eyelashes and hairstyles by me. The other vintage dolls will need to be cleaned and styled. You may find that a few of the dolls have had haircuts by a child long ago, or missing hair plugs. One of the dolls has matted hair and needs a reroot. I will leave that up to you. All of the damage on the dolls can clearly be seen in the photos. All of my face paint and eyelash rooting work can be clearly seen in the photos, and I encourage you to examine them carefully using the zoom feature. If you do not want damaged dolls or you do not like my makeover work...do not bid. I don't want you to be unhappy and I don't want any complaints or drama. We do not need the trouble. Because many of the vintage dolls have problems this lot is being sold AS IS WITH ABSOLUTELY NO GUARANTEES MADE AND NO RETURNS ACCEPTED. ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU BID. In spite of the damage and flaws described here and shown in the photos, this is still a GREAT collection of very rare and potentially lovely dolls. The dolls that need work could be made to display very well with a little love and creative TLC...body damage would not show when the dolls are properly dressed. These dolls are from my own personal collection and have been well cared for, displayed and/or stored in my smoke-free and pet-free doll room, some for over 10 years. I love these dolls but I am having to downsize my large clone collection so I am passing these wonderful girls on to another loving and appreciative collector. I think you will be very pleased with them. thank you for looking! Good luck bidding!
ITEMS SOLD AS IS WITH NO RETURNS SO VIEW THE PHOTOS CAREFULLY AND ASK ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS PRIOR TO BIDDING. THANK YOU.
