Antique US Civil War Ames 1861 Dahlgren Bayonet

Ok, Couple more Items from a friend to thin out, time to move on.
OK, Not sure about this one from an estate been working with, not my area.
What appears to be an
1861 Dahlgren Bowie knife bayonet stamped on one side "U.S.N. D.R. 1862" and maker mark on the other "AMES MFG & CO / CHICOPEE / MASS". Butt of the brass pommel is stamped inspector's initials "DR".
Missing the barrel locking mechanism, and no scabbard.
If this is a reproduction it is a nice one, better than the many listed as real or reproduction. At least it is not "Japan" marked.
Blade is 11 7/8" with 16 1/2" overall length.
The height and thickness of the blade is 13/4” x 3/8” at hilt, Weighs 2 pounds 4 ounces.
Am starting low, will let you knowledgeable buyers set the price, real or reproduction.
