    Description

    The Democratic Republic of Congo 500 Francs with a pick number P-96s was issued in 2002 by the Central Bank of Congo. Its obverse features the bank monogram on the center and on its left is a man with a pick ax and two men with pans searching for diamonds in a stream. On the right are three diamonds. The banknotes reverse displays a diamond mining in a narrow valley. Trees, as well as a river and a building, can be seen in the background. The 150 x 70 mm paper bill comes with a solid security thread with a demetalized REP DEM DU CONGO. Additionally, it bears an okapi head as its watermark. It also has a registration device that consists of a star with 5 tips positioned in the center of a diamond. This particular specimen banknote is in uncirculated condition and is TAP authenticated.
