Description
Ives Very Scarce Green/Red 20-193 Cattle Car w Flyer Body from early 1928I recently bought a large collection. Many of the items came from the estate of Lee Hieronimus, TCA CM5-101, who had owned a Lionel Service Station since 1933 in nearby Oakland. He took old trains on trade-in. This collection had a lot of trains that I don't need. See my other auctions.
In 1928, Lionel and American flyer took control of bankrupt Ives. They kept the Ives line going using many Flyer and Lionel bodies with Ives trucks and couplers. This car is very rare and was among the first group of Ives 'transition' cars. It is all original with no paint touch-ups.
Much more common is the Flyer-bodied 20-193 cattle car in Orange with a Red Roof.
In a recent Stout auction, a similar Green/Red 20-193 sold for ,400.00
