BLACK BEAUTY -  PERUPHASMA SCHULTEI STICK INSECT - ADULT MALE
For sale are newly molted adult males. This is the perfect opportunity to purchase a male and female specimen for potential breeding.
These are an incredible stick insect species and originally found in a small region of northern Peru. This species is renowned for the striking jet black body, bright yellow eyes and red fan shaped wings (adults).
Adult’s are a stocky compact species with females reaching almost 6cm long, and males approximately 4cm with considerably thinner overall body structure.
These nymphs have been raised in a 40 gallon upturned terrarium with a potted privet bush as a fresh food source.  In the wild the insect feeds on Schinus plants.  Insects will also feed on Aucuba japonica and honeysuckle in captivity (check that food plants have not been treated with any type of insecticides). Stick insects are lightly misted daily with good ventilation and a temperature of 70-75 degrees Fahrenheit.
Please note that I am not responsible for postal delays or exposure to hot/cold should the package be left outside etc upon delivery resulting in insect fatality.
Shipping will be made Monday - Wednesday to avoid weekend delays and potentially longer transit periods (unless the purchaser requests otherwise).
The parent stick insects of these nymphs matured last August and are still actively laying eggs.
